Happy New Year 2009! We hope that you are all having a wonderful new year and are busy making those resolutions! Obviously, we are counting that one of your resolutions will be to lift up Wanda daily through prayer and positive thoughts. They have gotten us this far..and they will bring us the rest of the way on this journey!
Wanda has been doing really well since our last update! She and Rich have been hiking in the hills by their home (Canyon Crest) almost daily. The whole crew (Wanda, Rich, Missi, Jeff and the 3 grand kids) went for a New Years Eve hike followed by a park visit and then lunch to celebrate 2008 out the door! I think all the adults went home for an afternoon nap!
On Saturday, Wanda took the first steps in taking control of one of the worst side affects of chemo - hair loss! She visited her stylist, Anna, who gave her a "sassy" short little do! She looks amazing! We have even seen here "striking a pose" with her new style! We are hoping to get a picture up of the new look!
OK, Warriors! This week begins in earnest!! We have physical therapy on Wednesday followed by round 2 of chemo! It is going to be a tough week - but this lady (and her band of warriors) are way tougher! Let's all get together - lift Wanda up daily - and encourage her on in the battle!
Better times await us all in 2009. We're just gonna have to clean up some of the crud from 2008 and get going.....

Go Girl Go! You are a tuff cookie (albeit a cute one!) and with all our help You Are Gonna Kick Some Butt. We all love you! We are here for you in our daily prayers!
Happy 2009! :) Thinking of ya as you continue your battle. Your one tough Woman I must say! Keep up the great improvements! Your in my thoughts every day. Much love and hugs to you! xoxo
Happy New Year to the clan in SoCal! Just wanted to point out a positive to the chemo and losing some hair....you finally might be able to tame that thick hair! It is the thickest I have ever seen! (I'm actually quite jelous of the fullness) You can join us thin hair club members...but I also belong to the itty bitty titty committe, so maybe it is not such a perk belonging to my clubs.... I love you all so much, keep up the great attitudes and enthusiasim!
WOW! You continue to amaze us! Of course, we are not surprised by your strength and determination! Keep it up and we will keep sending our best wishes and thoughts to you daily...you are so dear to both of us and we love you very much! Let us know when you need us to come take care of you for a while! Love you dear friend! Donna and Bill
Wanda & Rich, we're always thinking of you. We love you!
i can't wait to see the short hair! happy new year!

can't wait to see the new do!!!! i am glad you are getting in your walks. we need some warm weather so i can get mine in too. keep up the positive that goes a long way toward healing. we are thinking of you every day and send our love.
No matter if you have long, short or no hair ..... YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!! Much love and miss you every day!
Happy New Year, Wanda. You are an amazing woman whose smile lights up the room wherever you go. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I am excited to see the new hairdo too. I will look for you and Rich around the neighborhood. Keep up the good work. Love, Sandy
Even with your hair gone - you have more than most of the members in NAWIC - you always looked sexier with your hair short anyway. We Warriors are praying for you daily and looking forward to seeing you when we can. We love you....and with love you can conquer about anything.
Happy New Year! At least you have warm weather and and no snow!!
Keep it up!!
Hey, hope you like the warm weather we WICS ordered for you so that you can keep up the walks in the hills and work on a sexy tan at the same time. Hey, got a question...when you lose your hair, does it disappear, like (how can I put this delicately) everywhere??? 'Cause in that case there would be some definite perks. No tweezing those foot long chin hairs...no shaving leg and pits (yes!) no threading the unibrow, no waxing the bikini line. No fuzzy butt (but I digress).... Gotta put that positive spin on things, right? And if anyone can, you can. Keep up the good fight, we're all tweezing for you. Love you. Izzi
can i just thank izzie for asking that question about interesting hair loss? especially the "fuzzy butt" part! glad someone could find that morsel of hilarity in the situation :)
i, too, am interested in the answer!
